After studying interior architecture and scenography, Emilie Sajot joined the Paris Opera in 2006 as a painter and decorator. Working with the scenographers, she enhanced her professionalism and creativity by exploring matter and color techniques for a decade. The Opera’s large canvases naturally lead her to an appetite for large formats and in 2015, she paints her first wall. From then on, she devotes herself exclusively to her work as a visual artist.
She initiates personal artistic explorations on canvas as well as on walls, experimenting with matter, looking various textures, vibrations and the optical effects geometry can provide. Based on a semi-controlled intuition, her compositions evoke a notion of space halfway between abstraction and figuration.
Lady M stages her inner worlds by building a mental setting where her doubts and inner questionings are projected. In search of a truth of her own, her works interrogate her, each forming enigma to be solved in order to the mystery of creation.
Between fragility and strength, her plastic equilibriums exalt her whole being.
Without filter, her universe is offered to us as a testimony, both sensitive and fair.
